Kirche am Südstern

The Kirche am Südstern was built between 1894 and 1897 as an Evangelical garrison church in the Neo-Gothic style on Kaiser-Friedrich-Platz—now Südstern—in Berlin-Kreuzberg, based on a design by garrison construction inspector Ernst August Roßteuscher. The church was equipped in 1897 with an organ by Wilhelm Sauer, featuring 40 registers on two manuals and pedals. This organ is still in use today.

Due to its monumental dimensions, the Kirche am Südstern continues to dominate the surrounding square. The church is 62 meters long and 38 meters wide. The main tower reaches a height of 90 meters.
