ROCK & ORGAN returns to Berlin in June 2027

Following two previous performances in Berlin, ROCK & ORGAN returns to Kirche am Südstern with legendary rock classics reimagined for organ and rock ensemble.

In ROCK & ORGAN, the organ becomes an integral part of the band. Electric guitar, bass, vocals and percussion combine with the power of the organ, bringing a new scale and depth to music that has shaped generations.

The programme features music by Queen, Metallica, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Radiohead, Survivor, Europe and other legendary names in rock. It brings together pieces that have proved particularly effective in the combination of organ and rock ensemble - from more intimate passages to the full force of the entire ensemble.

The organ is placed directly on stage alongside the musicians, making it a visible part of the performance and bringing the audience closer to the musicians and the music itself.

Beneath the Neo-Gothic vaults of Kirche am Südstern, the architecture, acoustics and lighting add another dimension to the concert while keeping the character and energy of the original music at its heart.

Kirche am Südstern

Südstern 12, Berlin

The Kirche am Südstern was built between 1894 and 1897 as an Evangelical garrison church in the Neo-Gothic style on Kaiser-Friedrich-Platz—now Südstern—in Berlin-Kreuzberg, based on a design by garrison construction inspector Ernst August Roßteuscher. The church was equipped in 1897 with an organ by Wilhelm Sauer, featuring 40 registers on two manuals and pedals. This organ is still in use today.

Due to its monumental dimensions, the Kirche am Südstern continues to dominate the surrounding square. The church is 62 meters long and 38 meters wide. The main tower reaches a height of 90 meters.
