On October 16, we invite you to an evening of classical music masterpieces at the organ in Tallinn.
Programme: a gem of organ music – Bach's Toccata in D minor, BWV 565; Orff's powerful
O Fortuna from the cantata
Carmina Burana; Grieg's
In the Hall of the Mountain King; Böllmann's iconic
Suite Gothique; an arrangement of Schubert's
Erlkönig for violin and cello; and many other captivating works.
You will hear some of the most compelling compositions by great composers, performed by an extraordinary ensemble:
- Ilona Birgele (organ)
- Yuri Savkin (violin)
- Irina Vylegzhanina (cello)
- Virdžīnija Laube-Vītiņa (percussion)
The concert takes place under the vaults of Charles's Church, home to Estonia's largest church organ — a Walcker instrument.
Please note: all musicians will be positioned on the gallery next to the organ — within the vast acoustic space of the church, visual contact and proximity are essential for precise and cohesive ensemble playing.
We invite you to experience these masterworks in an atmosphere where music, light, and space become one, and the musicians' virtuosity is brought to life through bespoke lighting design.
